Christmas Chaos

Well, Christmas was a smash success....now we need a week to recover. After three straight days of never being put down, apparently Carson needs a week to adjust as well. He thinks that constant attention should be the new standard. Mom doesn't have enough arms to make that happen. Nick braved the elements last weekend and cut down a tree that we enjoyed decorating. Carson dressed as Santa Claus for Christmas Eve at Grandma Nancy's house. He also played the part of baby Jesus in the Nativity with his cousins (Avery and Scott were sorely missed). Christmas Day was spent with Grandma Lesly, Great Grandma Floy and Nick's family. Santa was good to us this year. While he had no idea what was going on, Carson made out like a bandit with far too many gifts; books, toys, clothes, shoes, a piggy bank, and a Teddy Ruxpin to boot. Nick got a Jack Lalaine fruit juicer, goggles, a python snake skin tie and a few other goodies. We got camping gear and Nick got me a Yudu!! I look forward to making many, many t-shirts in the new year. Next highlight.....San Diego to celebrate the New Year with Grandpa Stephen, Great Grandma Nilda and Great Grandpa Gerald!

Carson Scott

After days with no sleep, what seems like hundreds of diapers changed and countless feedings, we are beginning to adjust to the new addition in our household. Carson is really pretty good - he doesn't fuss too much. He's a curious little guy and will spend hours awake, just looking around, taking everything in. My mother says he is nosey, which very well may be...making me nervous for the what the next couple of years may bring. I think we are going to be VERY busy. Nicholas is stepping into the shoes of fatherhood rather nicely. He doesn't mind changing diapers and loves his father-son time, which is wonderful because it gives me a chance to get a nap in every once in a while! Carson eats like a champ and at his last doctor's appointment weighed in at 8lbs 11oz...a whopping 1 lb over his birth weight just 2 weeks in.

All things baby....

Well, with D-Day quickly approaching, we figured we better get something up here. My belly, though it seems impossible, continues to grow every single day. The Doc says it could be anytime...so we are increasingly anxious and nervous. This is sure to be an adventure!! The nursery is nearly finished. We've just a few tin signs left to hang on the walls and decorations to be placed on the shelves. Nonetheless, here is the progress. As you can see, we settled on a vintage garage theme. I don't know who will like to room better, Nicholas or the baby.
