We've been reminded this past few days that winter is not yet over, receiving a good 12 inches of snow in our backyard. While the sunshine was nice for a few minutes, we were hovering in the sixties for weeks, Nick is thrilled to be back snowboarding. He celebrated a birthday this last weekend and got a GoPro camera, so it's made filming while snowboarding...or driving fun. With his birthday now passed, we are turning to prepare for the new baby. Six weeks. Six weeks! Goodness, where has the time gone? We are still undecided on names, but figure we'll have to settle on something at some point. I don't think Carson knows what is coming. He's spoiled. Rotten, really and this is going to turn his world upside down. I'm pretty much exhausted just thinking about it. My stomach has ballooned to gargantuan proportions - getting out of bed, even rolling over has proved to take a marathon of strength. Carson's favorite perch has become the top of my belly. He might actually believe it a challenge to scale to the top of it and rest upon his arrival. His little brother doesn't like this so much and kicks him. I can't say I am very fond of it either. My boys are beating me up...and they aren't even both here yet. I might need more than six weeks off to adjust....and recover.
Meanwhile, Nick and Carson are the best of buds. He gets so excited when his daddy comes home. They wrestle and play video games together. They share a love of cars - Carson thinks everything is a car and if he hears his dad watching anything car related, you better believe he is paying attention. He's learned that keeping his hand down his pants is really rather entertaining, and we battle him to remain decent in public. Needless to say, it's an uphill battle. He loves to help his mommy cook, testing the durability of the pots and pans by banging them on the ground, standing on them or throwing them across the room. His favorite toys, aside from cars, still remain to be spoons, whisks, rolling pins adn spatulas. Go figure.
All in all, we are healthy and incredibly happy. We're excited about the adventure over the next several weeks..and you can be sure we will be sharing!
